Sergeant Major Ronald Shaw Jr. is the command senior enlisted leader for the Defense Media Activity, Fort George G. Meade, MD. Sergeant Major Shaw enlisted in the United States Army out of Petersburg, VA. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC, in September 2003. He completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort George. G. Meade, MD, where he was awarded the MOS 25V, Combat Documentation Production Specialist.

Sergeant Major Shaw has deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has provided numerous combat documentation support to Joint Force Commanders through multiple contingency operation around the world.

Sergeant Major Shaw is a graduate of the Basic Airborne Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Warrior Leaders Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Basic Instructor Training Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course (Distinguished Leadership Award), Senior Leader Course, Drill Sergeant School, Modern Army Combative Program (MACP) Level 1 and 2, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Special Operation Advanced Situational Awareness Course, Visual Information Manager Course, Tactical Information Operations Planners Course, the United States Army Sergeants Major Course Class 72 (Commandants List) and the Public Affairs Communication Strategy Qualification Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Thomas Edison State University and a Master in Professional Studies in Organization Development & Change from Penn State University.
