DMA Transformation

As of September 30, 2019, DMA disestablished the Defense Visual Information component  (to include the Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC)) and realigned the VI Policy and Proponency positions and resources within a new PA Proponency section under the Office of the Chief Management Officer (OCMO) within the DMA headquarters. The webpage will continue to exist as part of the DoD VI policy and DODI 5040.02-Visual Information.

The three DIMOC centers have realigned as follows:

  • Joint Combat Camera Center (JCCC)- The JCCC and the Joint Operations Center (JOC) have both been integrated into the DMA Joint Mission Center (JMC). The JMC Mission is developing and will include planning, analysis, and evaluation at the DMA mission program performance.
  • Defense Visual Information Customer Services (DVICS)- will remain in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania and is being expanded to a DMA Enterprise-level customer service capability.  LTC Randy Taylor is Director, Customer Services, under the control of the Mission Support Line of Business.
  • Defense Visual Information Records Center (DVIRC), Riverside, Calif. - The DVIRC has been transferred under the control and direction of DMA Riverside Director, under the Production LOB.  The mission continues as the flow point for transferring permanent DoD VI records to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).  They continue to digitize physical media from the services and combatant commands, as well as managing digital DoD VI records.
